The longer time you sit in your throne, it is essential that you marry and sire children, as your age will soon take its toll and the likelihood of the death of your character will increase.

The game will decide when you will bear your child and what gender it will have, but you decide its name.

Oh, what would medieval court life be without the sweet lure of thine ilk? Incest is best!

How about polygamy, will it be possible? As it was fairly common back in these days. Would it be possible that a male lover of the king toke up cloak of a fallen king?

If you convert to Islam you might get away with polygamy, but the Catholic church would probably regard it as infidelity.

1. For muslims yes. For christians - not if you do not like excommunication.

2. No. But you could both have male and female official lovers.

But the catholic church didn't oppose it until the 13th centaury I belive, as well there was no opposition against homosexuality until then?

The catholic church did not oppose marriages for priests until the 13th century. And while many kings had homosexual lovers, it would have be seen as awkward if a king would marry his male lover.

I don't mary the one, just put him up as mine heir, with courts and noblemens blessings of course. Just in case of my beloved Adela won't render me any children. But, how will it be about the polygamy, can go cruising around Europe for more young fertile girls?

While it may not have been considered heresy, it was still a faux pas.

I think that history shows that if a king soliticed in a homosexual affair too much, he became too unpopular. But I do not think the issue was homophobia, except for maybe Scandinavia and eastern Europe. Instead, I think it was generally jealousy or concern about the affairs of the state which drove European courts to plot against kings who were too "in touch" with one individual male courtier.

The most important thing was to sire children.
